file0001358545114200,000 Hondas, Toyotas and Nissans are being recalled in Canada due to a passenger side airbag issue that could lead to an inflator burst. Over 3 million vehicles are being recalled globally.

The problem occurred because of errors in production. The manufacturer of the airbags, Takata Corporation says the recall also includes non-Japanese auto makers. There have been five reports of airbag problems, three in the United States and two in Japan. There have been no injuries reported.

The Canadian recall includes 81,000 Honda Civics and 11,000 Acura 1.7 EL vehicles dating from 2001 to 2003. Also, there are 6,140 CR-V vehicles from 2002 and 2003 and 10,000 Odysseys from the 2002 model year.

Honda says the airbag inflators could deploy and cause possible injuries.
